Around thirteen international from USIL participated in the Academic Field Trip to Cusco, which allowed them to travel to historic city of Cusco, at the heart of the Inca Empire, and learn more about its history through cultural and academic activities.
Students from different countries such as: Norway, United States, El Salvador, France, Finland, Austria, Germany and Sweden; during four days, they visited, the most representative locations in the city and the valley such as: the Plaza de Armas, Qorinkancha, Urubamba, Pisac, Ollantaytambo, Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, Maras and Moray, and the San Pedro Market. As well as the USIL Extension Center and Hotel Casa Don Ignacio.
During the program, students took classes on the history of the Inca civilization, which had as a practical component a City Tour guided by Prof. Angelita Contreras, who is a Faculty member at our extension n center
Students were also immersed in the culture and lifestyle of Cusco during their visit to the San Pedro market and to the textile stores specializing in alpaca sweaters, this allowed them to fully experience the local culture and traditions.
The Academic Field Trip Cusco program is conducted in both English and Spanish, and is open to the entire USIL student community who wish to live this experience.
The next trip will be held in May 2020 and the call will start from the months of November and December of this year.

The first group of students from the College of Hospitality Management, Tourism Administration and Gastronomy flew to Dubai on September 4 for a three-month exchange at The Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management (EAHM). The students will take courses for their major in English, following which they will be able to apply for a 3-month internship at one of the hotels or companies in the group.
