From August 13 to 22, 11 students from the USIL Green Program visited the university’s Extension Center in the city of Cusco to participate in academic activities as part of the Water Resource Management and Sustainable Practices course. These students from the United States visited different s related to renewable energy management and good practices in environmental management.
Among the research topics covered were “Education to the Huatanay River Community” and “Huatanay River Restoration.” In addition, they carried out different projects to assist the community of Huillcapata, such as the installation of an irrigation system using recycled material for the greenhouse at the local school.
Including the abovementioned group, the Green Program has a total of 51 students and volunteers registered for our international Semester in Cusco programs in 2015. All of these initiatives will undoubtedly foster positive changes for our children and our environment.
