WHAT TO DO AND WHAT NOT TO DO IN PERU
  • Know the rules for your course at USIL and important dates (InfoSIL).
  • Be careful regarding traffic and always be alert when using public transportation (don’t assume that vehicles will stop for you).
  • Keep an eye on your belongings and surroundings at all times. Walk purposefully, without getting distracted by your cell phone or other devices.
  • Buy bottled water upon your arrival, and then start using tap water little by little.
  • Always carry a copy of your passport (leave the original at home), emergency contact numbers and your health insurance card.
  • Don’t assume that class rules at USIL will be the same as those of your home institution. If you have any questions about them, ask your instructor.
  • Don’t carry more cash than you need, and carry your credit and debit cards only when you plan to use them.
  • Don’t take unlicensed taxis, especially if you are a woman traveling alone or at night.
  • Don’t expose yourself to risk by wearing valuable accessories or staying out very late at night.
